Email campaigns

At present, email campaigns are sent via MailChimp. The process to do this is as follows:

  1. Go to the ‘Contacts’ page in vTiger and filter to view the relevant clients, then export the list
  2. Log in to MailChimp and select ‘Lists’ then click the drop-down on the All Clients list and click ‘Import’ before following the steps to import the list. If the contacts you are importing are a particular subset then set the Tag on the import as appropriate (i.e. Ticketing, ProPoint, External Integration). MailChimp will import any new contacts while skipping over the existing ones
  3. Select ‘Campaigns’ from the menu in the top left
  4. Click ‘Create Campaign’ on the top right, and select ‘Create an Email’
  5. Name the Campaign and click to proceed
  6. Click ‘Add Recipients’ and select the updated list from the drop-down, as well as the relevant tag if appropriate, then tick ‘Personalize the “To” field’ and set the dropdown to *|FNAME|* before clicking Save
  7. Click ‘Add From’ and set the Name as ‘DigiTickets’ and the Email Address as ‘digitickets@digitickets.co.uk’, then Save
  8. Click ‘Add Subject’ and set the Subject and Preview text as appropriate – usually as the email title and first line
  9. Click ‘Design Email’ and then select ‘Saved templates’ at the top of the page, then choose the DigiTickets Default Template
  10. Edit the template until it contains the relevant content, then click ‘Preview and Test’ and select ‘Send a test email’. Enter your email address and click ‘Send Test’
  11. Once you’ve checked that the test email displays as expected, and made any necessary tweaks and repeat tests, click ‘Save & Close’ in the bottom right
  12. Once you’re ready to send your email click the ‘Send’ button in the top right to send your email
